STANDING BACK AND MOBILITY PROBLEMS
Hey Angela, just wanted to update you about my progress..am feeling so positive and like I have peeled yet another layer away to reveal a bit more movement! yey! Neck has really settled and I feel that a teeny bit of stiffness has subsided in my lumbar spine. Thank you for keeping my spirits up and helping me to believe that it is achievable to sort my long standing back problem. Your affirmation that everything is temporary has really helped and I have these good times to remember when I do have a blip. Thank goodness I found you, I finally feel I am on the right path to getting better, even though i know I still have a way to go.

My session with Angela was my first experience of the Alexander Technique. I am currently enjoying the experience of my first pregnancy and as you would expect there are a lot more stresses, strains and surprises. I have worked in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years and I enjoy keeping myself fit and healthy and feel I am fairly in tune with my body. However, after spending time with Angela, I felt a lot more conscious of my body's alignment and balance. Everything that Angela showed me made absolute sense and the techniques to take the stress from the lower back have been incredibly useful. I am now approaching the latter stages of pregnancy and the Alexander Technique has definitely made me consciously aware of my posture and alignment to help encourage the baby into the right position for birth. In my mind, any thing that makes the birth less painful and shorter should not be ignored!!!!

SHOULDER PAIN & STIFFNESS
I think for me, learning about the Alexander Technique meant giving myself the time and space to slow down and concentrate on the messages my body was giving me through my posture and breathing. It helps me to think about the way I move and how that can affect the way that I feel and handle different situations. It also gave me the awareness to think about how I move and how that impacts my body.

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say how great the AT/running session we did together was for me.
I finished the Madrid 1/2 marathon in 2 hours 27 mins yesterday which I’m pretty
pleased with! I did very little training and am actually recovering from a cold
so the signs weren’t good, BUT I used the technique in the little training I did
which completely changed the way I run (I can tell because different parts of my
legs hurt!) and also used it yesterday. I have not doubt at all that I wouldn’t
have made it through the race the way I was running previously. I had a little pain
in my knees but nothing like before. I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you -

RSI AND BACK PAIN
Everything I needed Alexander (Angela) provided.The sessions had a profound impact.
I was having lower back pain and most importantly issues with RSI, not just in my wrist but all the way up my arm to my shoulder which was affecting my performance at work. I am lucky enough to have a job that I love and the thought that I may have to stop doing it was causing a lot of worry and stress. After our first session with Angela much of that worry was dispelled. Angela's own, similar, story is inspiring and I have become acutely aware of my posture when both standing, sitting and lying down. As our sessions continued that awareness solidified and became something of an obsession.
A year on I rarely suffer from RSI or back pain and when I do I have the tools to help myself.
To say it saved my life could be an exaggeration, but it’s also not far from the truth. It has been so empowering to learn that I can send messages directly to my body that have such profound effects. This was what I needed. The tools to make myself better.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELL-
Applying the Alexander technique has helped me to improve my physical and mental health in general. While practising a diverse set of exercises, my body posture improved and this has had a direct impact on my mood and confidence. Also, mentally, I could focus more while having good conscious breathing. Thank you to Angela and her sessions I have a better understanding of how all movements, breathing and postures form a cycle in my body and I can say that my quality of life has improved.

Angela’'s group sessions are a fascinating and helpful environment in which to grasp the concepts of the Alexander Technique and apply them to things you do in everyday life. I really enjoyed learning in a group as I could learn from others, seeing how other people were standing or moving with instruction, as well as thinking of how I was putting Angela's instructions into practise myself. Angela's gentle approach creates a calm and positive atmosphere and I enjoyed being able to try some relaxation work at the end of each session. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and would definitely recommend it to others.
